Macko Unleashed #17

OCTOBER 31, AD 2010

                           SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

 updated and much expanded!

My 2010 website,, has been almost completely updated and very much expanded. It can be used after the election by state legislative candidates in Ohio and elsewhere. It is packed with much valuable information and also links to my 2008 website, which is a very important resource for federal candidates.

It is with great sadness that I announce the sudden death of Stella Salamone, a dedicated patriot and defender of liberty who was only 44 years old. I was honored to know her and be interviewed by her several times at the Hessler Street Fair. On behalf of the Libertarian Party of Cuyahoga County, I extend my deepest sympathies to her husband, Mike, an equally dedicated patriot and defender of liberty. Here are more details.

Now Until November 2. Volunteers are still needed to distribute literature either by car or on foot. Email me or call me at 440-248-8620. This can be an educational, enjoyable and challenging activity. Think of it as fun.

Campaign signs are also available. I would like them back after the election.

HOW I PLAN TO VOTE AND WHY

Obviously, I think that you should vote Libertarian wherever you have the opportunity to do so, especially in the 17th State House District, where I am running. For a complete list and information about Libertarian candidates in Ohio see Project Vote Smart and the Secretary of State’s site, listed above, and in the Cleveland area

Here is information about our candidates for governor and lieutenant governor, Ken Matesz and Ann Leech, Dr. Marc Feldman for attorney general, Matt Cantrell for state treasurer Charlie Earl for secretary of state, and Michael Howard for auditor They are the best candidates and will work consistently to restore our liberty.

In the 10th and 14th congressional districts, Libertarians Jeff Goggins  and John M. Jelenic are filling the Libertarian positions.

I also recommend Eric Deaton, the Constitution Party candidate for US Senate.   He takes an uncompromising stand to abolish Obamacare. It can’t be fixed. It needs to be destroyed. His Independent opponent, Dr. Michael Pryce, does not take as strong a position although he is also a very good man, too.

I met both of them several times on the campaign trail. Eric especially has campaigned hard throughout northern Ohio. Perhaps, next time one of them might run as a Libertarian.

I plan to vote for David Ellison, the Green Party candidate for Cuyahoga County Council Executive. Besides the two qualifications of not being a Republican or Democrat, he opposed the unvoted sales tax increase for the Medical Mart and continues to mention the possibility of repealing it, unlike any of his opponents.

The only Libertarian running for the County Council is Ryan T. McGilvray in the first district.

In the 17th US House district, Jim Graham, a good, principled Republican is running. Many patriots support him. However, his election would not send as strong a message to the Enemy as voting for Jim Traficant A vote for Jim Traficant would send the strongest possible message to the Enemy. It would be the equivalent of a finger in their eye and you know which finger.

Special mention should be made of several people. Charlie Earl, our outstanding candidate for secretary of state, has set new standards for all future Libertarian candidates to exceed if they can. Ken Matesz has done very well, too, as much as operating a business during a depression would allow.

I want Jim Berns to issue my news releases if I run again and Travis Irvine to film videos for me. In the enormous gerrymandered Sixth District, Martin Elsass  has put up a very good fight. For more information see:

Jeffrey Blevins did quite well against John Boccieri in their honest debate at the Palace Theater in Canton. I went to Canton to see it since there were no honest Congressional debates in Cleveland, no thanks to the City Club. Among other standouts I have met are fellow state legislative candidates Bob Williams, his mother, Judy Kayden, Kurt Liston, Josh Robertson and Jacob Dawson. Our candidate for state treasurer, Matt Cantrell, deserves special mention since he actually broke through the Plain Dealer editorial staff’s prejudices to earn an endorsement from them, a first for any Ohio Libertarian. In the Columbus area, state legislative candidates Michael Johnson, Lawrence Binsky, Bill Yarborough and Mark Noble are gaining worthwhile attention. (Their websites are all accessible through

To all those candidates who are doing anything at all to advance the cause of liberty, thank you very much. All efforts are cumulative. What we do today will effect what happens in coming years, whatever happens on Tuesday.

From The Future of Freedom Foundation October 28, 2010

Fascism will come at the hands of perfectly authentic Americans who have been working to commit this country to the rule of the bureaucratic state; interfering in the affairs of the states and cities; taking part in the management of industry and finance and agriculture; assuming the role of great national banker and investor, borrowing billions every year and spending them on all sorts of projects through which such a government can paralyze opposition and command public support; marshaling great armies and navies at crushing costs to support the industry of war and preparation for war which will become our nation’s greatest industry; and adding to all this the most romantic adventures in global planning, regeneration, and domination, all to be done under the authority of a powerfully centralized government in which the executive will hold in effect all the powers, with Congress reduced to the role of a debating society.

— John T. Flynn, As We Go Marching [1944]

John T. Flynn, a great patriot and defender of liberty, appears to have been a prophet. Lets prove him wrong.
