Macko Unleashed #25

MARCH 2, AD 2012

Give me liberty or give me death.      Patrick Henry

Next Tuesday, the 176th anniversary of the fall of the Alamo, is, of course, an election day. Most of the readers of this message will be confronted with two choices.

Especially since I have supported Ron Paul with money and with distribution of literature, I am not going to ask anyone who has devoted months of time, energy and financial resources to switch to the Libertarian Party. It will advance the cause of liberty for Ron Paul to do well in Ohio and everywhere, even though it appears that the Republican Establishment and the primary Enemy of liberty, the establishment media, have been successful in their efforts to keep him from becoming President. He has brought vitally important issues such as the Federal Reserve System and the unconstitutionality of our wars, especially since the great war criminal, Franklin Roosevelt, misled us into World War II, to the attention of the American people more than anyone else for decades and perhaps ever.

However, if you want to register as a Libertarian in Ohio, run for office as a Libertarian within the next two years, become a delegate to our state or national conventions or participate in internal party activities at the local or state level as an officer or member of the LPO, you must ask for a Libertarian ballot. IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEM GETTING A LIBERTARIAN BALLOT, CALL AARON HARRIS AT 937-453-1776 OR EMAIL HIM AT AARON.HARRIS@LPO.ORG.

ALSO BE SURE TO GET INSTRUCTIONS AND WRITE IN JOHN FOCKLER FOR US SENATE. He needs 500 valid write-in votes to be on the ballot in November. I will be on the ballot as the Libertarian candidate for Congress in District 14. (I am also a knuckledragger candidate, according to the incumbent, since I will never vote to raise taxes. He thinks that the new Congressmen who were elected in 2010 and would not raise taxes are knuckledraggers. (Also, my promises have no expiration date except as set by God.) I am also on the ballot as the Libertarian candidate for State Central Committee in the 14th District and as a write-in candidate for Precinct Committeeman inward 5 Precinct C in Solon.

The Libertarian Party helped Ron Paul proclaim liberty throughout the United States in 1988 by nominating him as our candidate for President. It would be catastrophic if the cause of liberty were to become dependent on any one man, no matter his age. It is very important to maintain a party of principle. That can only be done by getting a Libertarian ballot, voting for even unopposed candidates and becoming a registered Libertarian.

7:00 PM Wednesday, March 7 This Wednesday, as usual, our meeting will be held at Denny’s Restaurant, 4331 West 150th Street, Cleveland, just south of I 71. We will hold our meetings at the same location on the first Wednesday of each month except May and July. If you wish to eat, you should arrive by 6:00 PM.

Cheryl Neufer, dedicated Libertarian activist, former LPO candidate for the Ohio Senate, President of Ohio NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) and Secretary of the Ohio Patient Network, will discuss two proposals for medical marijuana reform. She will explain the differences between the two proposals, the petition drives and what we can do to help restore the basic liberty of deciding what substances we take into our bodies.

The main difference that I can see in the two initiatives is that the OMCA2012 will create an Ohio Commission of Cannabis Control that will license and determine the regulations of medical cannabis

Scott Sedlak of the Thomas Jefferson Knowledge Institute and Debbie Dean, a representative of the Gary Johnson for President Committee, will also speak. Representatives of all other Libertarian Presidential candidates have been invited.

DM: It is barbarically inhumane to prevent someone who is in severe pain or actually dying from using whatever substance may assist him. The war on drugs, besides being a war on the Constitution, is also a war on humanity.

All federal and state candidates should devote a great deal of our campaigns to supporting this measure.

Two-thirds of the voters of Ohio, including all 88 counties, including leftist Cuyahoga, Lucas, Mahoning and Athens, repudiated Obamacare and all socialized medicine when they supported the new health care amendment to the Ohio Constitution. As happens quite often, the principled position and the politically profitable one coincide.

As always, our meetings are free and open to the public. Bring friends to become better informed.

If you have suggestions for future speakers or programs or any other questions or comments, please email me or call me at 440-248-8620.

From Sean Stipe, our candidate for Congress in the Ninth District:

My campaign signs will be done Saturday. I need help getting them put up at all the 266 polling locations in my district, and I am hoping that you could offer a little bit of your time. Here are the details:

  • The signs are vertical (old school) and are 7 inches wide by 24 inches high
  • Signs are stapled to wood stakes, so you will need a hammer to put them in the ground. (Or a rock)
  • They are only printed on one side, green with white lettering.
  • 2 to 5 signs will be available for each location
  • I would like them to be noticeable as people leave. There is a strategy for this listed below.
  • Attached is a file that list all the locations
  • I need people to handle several polling locations, such as an entire city like Huron.
  • Email me right away with your location selection or call me at 440-984-1878
  • If you are willing to travel a little distance to cover an area with no volunteers, please let me know.
  • Saturday, Sunday and Monday the signs will be distributed to those that can help
  • I need a few people to be my regional distributors where volunteers can pick up their signs. i.e Toledo, Sandusky, Parma.
  • Monday night, the signs need to be erected at the polling locations
  • Tuesday after 7PM, the signs need to be picked up
  • After the election, I can pick them up, or you can find creative locations to use them.

Thank you in advance.
Sean Stipe

PS The “strategy” is based on the thinking that every other candidate will be fighting for positioning on being seen coming in. Also, No one is going to change their mind to vote for me as they pull into the polling place. After people vote, the section of their brain that was trying to remember to vote for is now free. Let’s fill that void subconsciously.

DM: Unlike our unfortunate candidates for Congress in Sean’s district in 2010, I do not believe that he will be a dropout. I believe that his campaign will bring honor to the Libertarian Party of Ohio, unlike the two previous dropouts who will remain unnamed.

The Libertarian Party of Ohio State Convention will take place at the Holiday Inn in Worthington from Friday evening, March 30 to Noon Sunday, April 1. The location is 7007 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. To register at the special rate of $78/night plus taxes, you must call 614-436-0700 before March 9.

Friday evening at 7:00 there will be a fundraiser for Rupert Boneham, LP candidate for governor of Indiana.

Saturday morning, the business session is open to the public but only registered Libertarians may vote.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet candidates for the Libertarian National Committee. There will be a Luncheon Fundraiser and Candidate Contest.

Saturday afternoon, you may attend seminars with Dr. Robert Wagner who will expose the global warming myths, Jim Babka, former Ohio LP Chairman and head of Downsize, DC, and Nick Gillespie and Matt Welch of Reason magazine. There will also be opportunity for candidate training.

In the evening, there will be a banquet, auction and awards ceremony.

Sunday morning, there will be a breakfast buffet, a Presidential candidates’ debate and a straw poll.

The weekend package is $119 until March 25. More information is available at

The Libertarian Party National Convention will take place at the Red Rock Resort, 11011 West Charleston Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada, from May 3 to 6. See for details. Contact the LPO through to find out how to become a delegate. If you wish to attend as a delegate, contact Kevin Knedler, State Chairman. You must be a member of the Libertarian Party to become a delegate.

Gary Johnson, the former governor of New Mexico, who established an excellent record as governor of Arizona where he vetoed 750 bills, has left the Republican campaign and is now running for the Libertarian nomination for president. He has joined R. Lee Wrights, Bill Still, Carl Person and the very creative James Libertarian Burns (no relation to our persistent and very imaginative Congressional candidate in Cincinnati). Wayne Allyn Root has been frequently mentioned but has not yet declared.  The establishment was able to black Governor Johnson out thoroughly since he was not as well-known as Ron Paul. To his credit, he did not allow himself to be used as a tool in the anti-Paul movement.

The convention will choose the Libertarian candidates for President and Vice President, Chairman, the officers and members of the Libertarian National Committee and will review portions of the Platform and By-Laws. There are various packages which include events and deadlines, including hotel rooms.

I have been a delegate to every national convention of the Libertarian Party since 1987 and, except for 2006, when our national platform was eviscerated, and 2008, when we chose a former CIA agent who voted for the PATRIOT Act, as Presidential candidate, and has now endorsed a one-worlder, New Ager for President, they have all been enjoyable, educational experiences. I urge you to attend and will be glad to provide guidance to new delegates.

All meetings are scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM at Denny’s Restaurant, 4331 West 150th Street, Cleveland, except as noted below.

April 4 Representatives of Libertarian candidates for President have been invited to speak. So far only Gary Johnson’s local representative, Debbie Dean, has responded. We have a very good group of men running this year. Any of them would make the best President in at least 100 years. As far as I know, none of them has ever been an agent of the Central Intelligence Agency, a supporter of the abominable PATRIOT Act or an endorser of one-worlder, New Ager, Newt Gingrich, warmonger, antilibertarian Rick Santorum or Mitt Romney, the White Obama.

May 2 NO MEETING due to the Libertarian National Convention.

June 6 Mary Reynolds Powell, Past Commander of Veterans for Peace Chapter 39 and author of A World of Hurt; Between Innocence and Arrogance in Vietnam will discuss her book, Veterans for Peace and the antiwar movement.

July 11 Please note that this is the second Wednesday of July. Suggestions are welcome.

                     CAMPAIGN APPEARANCES

This is a new feature which will continue until Election Day. Unless otherwise noted, the events are free and open to the public. It is always beneficial to show popular support for candidates. Where possible, direct questions to me so that I have more opportunity to proclaim liberty.

As of now there are no further appearances since there is usually a temporary winding down after the Primary Election. I consider my appearances on The Charlie Earl Show, at the Trumbull Township Association Candidates Forum, the Mentor 9-12 Group, the Trumbull Township Association Candidates Forum and the Cleveland Ron Paul 2012 Candidates Forum to be successes and good practice. Unfortunately, there was a technical difficulty at WSPD and I did not get a copy of my address.

If you know of any other candidates’ forums or opportunities to speak in my district, US 14, elsewhere in Cuyahoga County, Summit, and the Warren and Youngstown areas, please notify me as soon as possible. It is important to have as much information as possible to invite oneself to such events, especially if the organizers have not done so.

As America plunges into a full blown police state with the passage of Section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act and signing by Obama on December 31, with almost no mention in the kept establishment media, and the threats of World War III and economic collapse loom ever larger, it is more important than ever to do as much as we can to advance the cause of liberty. Do whatever you can. Your life and liberty and the lives and liberty of those whom you love depend upon it.

                     OTHER COMING EVENTS

3:00 PM Sunday, March 4 Veterans for Peace Chapter 39 will meet St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2747 Coventry Road, Cleveland Heights. The VFP called for the impeachment of Barack Obama at its last national convention. Regrettably, nobody else has followed their courageous example.

3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, March 4 The second part of a panel discussion, What The Frack? about fracking, a new method of mining natural gas and oil, will take place at the United Methodist Church, 20 South Franklin Street, Chagrin Falls. On February 26 they showed a remarkably fact-free movie, Gasland. This time, a panel is supposed to discuss both sides of this issue.

7:00 PM Sunday, March 4 Hedy Epstein, a dedicated peace activist and survivor of one of the larger holocausts of the twentieth century, will speak at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Mackey Hall, 353 East Pine St., Wooster, Ohio 44691. For more information, see and Just as war is the health of the state so peace is the health of liberty, to paraphrase Randolph Bourne.

1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Saturday, March 10 Women Speak Out Peace and Justice will celebrate International Women’s Day at Kan Zaman Restaurant, 1616 West 25th Street, Cleveland on the corner of Franklin Avenue. While I cannot support their economic views or much of their historical perspectives, they are dedicated to the cause of peace. Any future peace coalition, along the lines of the America First Committee, which almost prevented World War II, if Roosevelt had not betrayed our troops at Pearl Harbor, must include people such as Ron Paul and Patrick Buchanan and Ralph Nader and Cindy Sheehan as well as groups throughout the political spectrum from the Libertarian Party, the Constitution Party and the John Birch Society to WSOPF, if it is to achieve success.

12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 13 and Every Second Tues Northeast Ohio Businessmen’s Briefing and Networking Event Brewster’s Bistro, 2681 Creekside Drive, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087 east of Ohio 91, north of I 480. The John Birch Society is holding meetings in the Greater Cleveland area. For information call 216-767-6646.

Subject: FW: House Con-Con Bill

To all John Birch Society Chapter Leaders and Friends of the Constitution:

Currently there are two bills in the Ohio General Assembly which call for the convening of a constitutional convention. Senate Joint Resolution 2 would ask a convention to discuss a balanced budget amendment, an amendment giving the President the line item veto, and an amendment requiring Congress to adopt budgets every two years ( instead of annually ). House Joint Resolution 3 would ask a convention to discuss an amendment that would require federal debt increases to be approved by a majority of state legislatures. These bills have been referred to their respective House and Senate committees (refer to the above attachments).

THESE CON-CON BILLS MUST BE DEFEATED. Please contact your chapter members and patriotic friends, urging them to contact the members of these respective House and Senate committees, encouraging them to vote against S.J.R. 2 and H.J.R. 3.

John Birch Society Coordinator

Judge Andrew Napolitano’s excellent libertarian show, Freedom Watch, has just been purged by Fox News Business Channel. Apparently only neocons need apply, with the exception of the brilliant John Stossel, who keeps strictly to economics.

Patrick Buchanan, the antiwar statesman who has run for President several times, has also been dumped by MSNBC, although this is more understandable since they now have an ideologically consistent bunch of communists there.

The death of Andrew Breitbart, which the medical/media establishment declared to be natural although it will still be several weeks before we learn of the cause of Whitney Houston’s death from the coroner’s report, was a major subject of today’s Alex Jones Report. Breitbart was going to release important information about Obama which he believed would remove Obama from office. See for more information.
