Who is David Macko?

David Macko was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1942. His father, Michael, was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and his mother, the former Anna Ratica, was born in Cleveland. His maternal and paternal grandparents came from what is now Slovakia in the 1890s but considered themselves as Russians and were members of the Russian Orthodox Church. His younger sister, Anya, died in 2000. They lived in the Union Avenue neighborhood until 1966 when conditions there became intolerable and moved to Solon, where he has lived ever since then.
He attended Cleveland "public" schools, graduated from John Adams High School as a member of the National Honor Society in 1960 and earned a BA degree in History from Adelbert College of what is now Case Western Reserve University.
He served honorably in the United States Army as a company clerk during the Vietnam Era, 1966 to 1968.
He sold insurance and was an adjustor at several financial institutions before he joined what became Key Bank and worked there as an adjustor until he retired in 2001.
After voting for Barry Goldwater for president in 1964 and seeing how the vile establishment Republicans mistreated him and his supporters, Macko became a member of the American Party and served as treasurer of the American Party of Cuyahoga County from 1974 to 1977 and treasurer of the American Party of Ohio from 1977 to 1980. In 1980, he became a member of the Libertarian Party and a life member in 1988. He has been Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Northeast Ohio and of the Libertarian Party of Cuyahoga County and has been a member of the Central Committee of the Libertarian Party of Ohio from the 14th Congressional District since 2010. He has voted for American Party candidates for president George Wallace, John Schmitz and Lester Maddox and Libertarian candidates Ed Clark, David Bergland, Ron Paul, Andre Marrou, Harry Browne twice, Michael Badnarik, Bob Barr and Gary Johnson. • 2014 for Congress again in Ohio US House District 14. He campaigned on impeaching Obama for treason, murder, war crimes, attempting to destroy the Constitution and to establish a dictatorship. To end the police state, he favors repeal of the "USA PATRIOT" Act, Obamacare, Common Core, the FBI, CIA, the NSA and all of the other agencies which are spying on (making war on) the American people, ending the Drug War and repealing all federal gun laws. To end the depression he favors repeal of the federal income tax, ending the Federal Reserve System and replacing it with honest Constitutional money, ending all unconstitutional government regulations, especially all taxes and regulations on development of energy. To prevent World War III, he favors ending all foreign aid, bringing all of our troops home and getting the US out of the UN. He will never vote to raise taxes or deprive Americans of more of their God-given liberties.
Macko has been a member of the John Birch Society since 1962 and a life member since 1975.
